UseCorn.com Interview

By Interviewer at 10/10/07 14:25
Name of your website?

UseCorn.com

Your name?

Dave Clark

Your Location (city, etc)

Dallas, Texas

Please give us a short summary of your website?

UseCorn.com, http://usecorn.com/, is an ethanol information website featuring a free Ethanol Virtual Stock Trading program.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

In 2006 I tried to invest in the ethanol stocks and related industries and I lost 30% of my original investment. I decided to develop a program that would help other beginning investors avoid that same loss. The http://usecorn.com/ Virtual Stock Trading program was the product of that effort.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

November 2006 and it was UseCorn.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted a easy, recognizable, and short name that inspired action.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

UseCorn.com's unique Sales proposition is the Ethanol Virtual Stock Trading program

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our goal is to develop UseCorn.com as an industry leader in ethanol information and investment strategies.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Presently the startup costs are front end loaded and we feel confident that we will achieve a profit in the 1st quarter of next year 2008

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would increase our services and marketing programs, to include more sophisticated functionality and merchandise.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, all of our programs are developed in house and are scaleable

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Program development, the nature of this business requires a high degree of functionality and integrity. Legal costs for disclaimers, etc. have also exceeded budget. We have had to take small steps as opposed to leaps.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Marketing and increasing user statistics

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

contacting media outlets and web directories such as this one

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

UseCorn.com has exceeded our expectations

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

10 months and we are in this for the long haul

What is your website address?
