What inspired you to launch your own website?
Some of my friends have had some financial success with their websites and I thought maybe I could get in on the action.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my first website in the fall of 2007. It was a site talking about the right ways to lose weight.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It best describes my website so I used it.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
I believe my website is more broad in topics than other sites meaning it covers a lot more topics than the average investing website does. It also helps any type of stock investor so if you're a beginner in the stock market, my website will help you get started.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I just want to get some increased traffic to my website. I go have some additional links on my side that are commissioned based but they also help me in providing the reader with more help.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far I've seen some success but I know if I continue to work at it, I'll be able to reach good rankings on the popular search engines.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would probably invest in trying to find easier alternatives to getting my website listed higher.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Probably not but I would find a way to keep up with the demand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None so far.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting my website to be ranked higher in search engines.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google Adwords
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I didn't think that it would take this long to get consistent traffic.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've had this particular website for about 2 months and I because it's still early, I'm going to keep on trying until I feel it is a dead idea.
