Please give us a short summary of your website?

Company Faqs provides information on registering and setting up a UK limited company. The web site is generally based around our years of practical experience helping the public form companies.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Most of the company formation websites on the internet are aimed at selling their particular products and services. Actual information about forming a company is incidental and secondary to their main objective. When I owned a company registration business, I spoke to so many people who did not really understand the implications of what they were doing. Company Faqs essentially seeks to bridge a knowledge gap.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Company Faqs was launched in May 2007. It was just a recollection of questions customers from our past had asked, the answers to which did not seem to be available anywhere. As we progressed in writing the site, a certain “flavour” developed. There was just so much information to provide. There is still lot to do.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name “Company Faqs” seemed apt. As we mentioned earlier, most information provided by formation agents was either about their specific systems or just centred on the good points of registering a company. Company Faqs is pure information, nothing else.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We all feel great. We don't ear any money from Company Faqs, but the "feel good factor" is definitely worth. We really feel like we are offer a service, something valuable which can help people. That's good enough.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would really try to make the site more interactive. There are quizzes on the site at the moment which is fun, but I would extend this by trying to find out what information people really wanted And then have a filtering system which would answer there questions specifically. Company formation can be quite stressful, not in itself, but because the person buying a company usually has the anxieties associated with setting up a new business

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

As with any new venture there were unexpected costs, complications, technological issues to overcome. It also took a lot longer to develop the site than we first thought it would. We were lucky, I think, that we were able to absorb the unexpected and not have to make any significant compromises on our original vision. Any which were made were evened out by the additional enhancements we made to the original specification.

What is your website address?
