Wal-Mart may have lower-than-estimates profits this quarter

Retailers are thought to get some stock gains during the crisis because people are thought to be flocking to the low-priced stores. In fact, Wal-Mart gained some stock points for 2008, one of the few companies to do so.

However, in a report, the company warned that its profits for the 4th quarter may be lower than the previous estimates by 12%.
